Quite often I would go to a page and it would automatically bring up a connection dialog wanting to connect to my VPN and the page would just wait until I pressed Cancel to continue loading.
This occured both in Firefox and Internet Explorer and I thought it might have been the way my wireless connection was connected and was hunting through the settings to no avail.
Now not only was this annoying as I had to press Cancel to have the page continue loading but was happening all the time. I could understand on a 404 error page or bad domain but on a valid page seemed a bit weird to me.
I tracked down that this happened on any page that had a link to an image that did not exist (check your webstats for your own website and you will see quite often you might have a css file link to an image that is not there. I will post later on watching your site for errors. The setting would automatically dial a new connection as per the Internet Properties shown below was configured to do.
All you need to do is turn this option to "Never dial a connection" and your back in business.
